1st July 2009

Clubnight 01 Jul 2009, weather was great, OK maybe a little warm and humid, never the less, it seemed everybody but one (no I won't tell Names) enjoyed the format and had a good time.
We played Numbers Scramble, bassically a scramble with the exeption that you had to use the club that matched the hole, on hole #3 = 3 Iron/Hybrid, on hole #5 you had to use your 5 Iron and so on!
We had our best turnout so far in 2009, we started with 16 players!
And the scorring? Well here is how we played;

1. Luzie, Roland & Perry 70 Strokes
2. Debbie, Tom, Torre & Rudi 71 Strokes
3. Joe, Andi & Frank 77 Strokes
4. Stefan, Günther & Rick 80 Strokes
5. Joachim, Peter & Coco 81 Strokes

We probably should have used a Handicap of some sorts, as you can see above!
However I enjoyed playing with all of you, and hope to see even more members next week for Clubnight!

Red 8 after the very heavy thunderstorm that hit the course on Saturday. Joe Rydzik said that there were fish actually swimming in the bunker at the back of the green because the water was so high.

IMPORTANT

Dear Membership,

I would like to remind you of a few basics from our Association;

-Etiquette: Please be reminded that you are not only presenting yourself, but the IGA when you are playing on the Golf Course! Therefore I ask you to wear the proper attire (Golf Attire that is!). Also please follow all instructions by the Marshalls, if you have a problem with them, don't argue, let the Commitee know and we will talk to the management.

-T-Times: Until sometime this autumn you have to book t-times (we have 20 per day officially) with the Caddy Master, after 1630 however there is no Requirement to book a T-Time, but you still need to check in with the Caddy Master and get a Score-Card with the valid date! Exception to the rule below!

-Clubnight: Clubnight is an event to come out and have fun and socialize with the other members, it is also the opportunity for our beginners and high Handicappers to enjoy and learn from the others, therefore the prizes are not given in a normal way but as wild cards if you will. To have this event every Wednesday 1630 at the Course, we have a special arrangement with the Club, and that is that we have the t-times from 1630 until 1715 reserved for us. This reservation is made because we have a deal that we will use. NO other t-times on that day, nobody and no exceptions! (The Caddy Master almost would not let us play the past Wednesday because 8 members had already been on the course!)

-Events: When signing up to events; tournaments, socials or dinners, I need to know that you will also show up! We are putting money against these events and therefore you are required to pay your dues, also if you don't show up, I expect the individuals to step up and do so without being asked.

-Scorecards; Every round you play on the course should be recorded on a Score-Card, these are to be signed and turned in to calculate your Handicap. If Members fail to turn in Score-Cards in a regular manner, the Club Leadership might consider adjusting the Handicap as required, to be fair to the other Competitors in Tournaments.

I would like to ask everybody to go by these rules, I think the people who are in charge of organizing and planning everything in the Club deserve some respect and that seems to be lacking!

From know on whoever violates against IGA standards, will be warned once and then will loose playing privileges for a to be determind time!

I am positive that you all understand that we need to follow certain standards and I am also convinced that you would not willingly violate them, therefore I write this reminder!

I wish you all that you stay in the Fairway and happy golfing, yours

Martin 'Coco' Vogt

5th May 2009 The following should be adhered to with immediate effect, starting with the Aachen Tournament on 16th May.

In an attempt to reduce the waiting time for participants, particularly those wanting to practice and starting in the later flights, we will make a change to the start procedure for future tournaments whilst the number of players is high (30 or more).

1. Show time is 20 minutes before the announced first Tee Time. Each Player has to report to the committee before Show Time. If you have not paid at the Sentry Club sign up, please pay the tournament committee in the Club House, prior to Show Time.

2. Tee Times will be announced prior to the tournament, usually the evening before on the web site. This should allow all of you, irrespective of your Tee time, to organize your arrival, practice driving range/putting green without excessive waiting times.

3. Pre tournament Briefing 15 minutes before first Tee Time. If you have not paid beforehand, please have the correct amount available and show up well before show time to allow us to complete the financial business.

If you’ve signed up and can’t play please inform a Tournament Committee member early so we can inform the reserves. Don't forget, no shows without notice still have to pay.

30th April 2009 Club Nights started on Wednesday 6th May. Tee times are 16:30 – 17:15. This is a good opportunity to mix with IGA members and an excellent excuse to get out on the course. If you are interested call the Club Night chairpersons or show up before 16:30 and check in with one of the Club Night organizers upstairs in the lounge/terrace.
