As our club has both North American and European members we imitate the professionals with our own version of the Ryder Cup. Every year a European and North American captain recruit 12 able bodied players to form two teams to compete over 2 days for the IGA Ryder Cup. This year it will be the weekend of the 3/4 September.
Both days are matchplay format with the first day played as doubles and the second day as singles. The trophy is awarded on Sunday afternoon to the weary but proud winning team. All of the participants receive a medal to commemorate a challenging, hard fought weekend of golf but above all to remember the friendly atmosphere and the comradeship enjoyed by all.
