On the Teeing Ground

  • You may choose which set of tees you will hit from.
  • Position a golf bag away from the teeing ground.
  • The order of play is determined by the players in a group, with the low scorer on each hole considered to have the honor on the next hole, that is, the privilege of hitting first. The next lowest scorer would hit next, and so on. (Rule 10-2a)
  • The teeing ground is a box determined by the line between the front edge of two tee markers and their outside limits, two club lengths directly behind each tee marker and perpendicular to them, and a line parallel to the line between the front edge of the tee markers.
  • The player may stand outside the teeing ground in order to hit the drive, as long as the ball is within the teeing ground. (Rule 11-1)
  • If a ball accidently rolls off the tee it may be replaced without penalty. (Rule 11-3)
  • The tee markers may not be repositioned, unless on the second shot when they become an obstruction. (Rule 11-2)
  • Stand away and to the side of the golfer teeing off, not directly behind the person.
